Don Vaughan Travels with Action Greensboro to Charlotte
Former Greensboro City Councilman and Senate Candidate Don Vaughan goes to Charlotte with Action Greensboro to explore successful business models.

Don participated, with 30 business and community leaders from around Greensboro , in a trip to Charlotte sponsored by Action Greensboro on July 22 nd . The trip was designed to spark discussion about how Greensboro can apply best practices to reinvigorate the local economy. The trip included a tour of LYNX, Charlotte 's successful light rail system and the International Trade Center .  City and county leaders discussed how they developed partnerships and revenue sources.

Hugh McColl, retired Chairman and CEO of Bank of America, talked about inspiring others to see the common vision and what his leadership role was in Charlotte 's recent public-private successes. There were also breakout sessions on public transportation and public spaces, public art, center city and development guidelines, and public/private partnerships and development financing.

Said Don, “I have lived in Greensboro my whole life, and been an advocate for the city for over 30 years. It is vital to explore how other communities have developed so we can build the best Greensboro possible. I will continue to learn about and implement new initiatives to grow Greensboro 's economy when I serve in the State Senate.”
