Hagan, running for U.S. Senate, enthusiastically endorses Don Vaughan to fill
her State Senate Seat.
Senator Kay Hagan, who has represented Greensboro in the North Carolina State
Senate since 1999 and is currently running to replace Elizabeth Dole in the U.S.
Senate, today enthusiastically endorsed Don Vaughan, former Greensboro City Council
member, to take over her seat.
Kay, who was named one of North Carolina’s “Ten Most Effective
Senators” three terms in a row, knows that Don will continue to bridge
partisan divides and provide pragmatic, fair, and strong leadership for Greensboro.
“I am thrilled that Don is running for
my seat in the State Senate. I look forward to being on the campaign trail with
him over the coming months, and know he will be a great partner to work with
when I replace Elizabeth Dole in the U.S. Senate. We work together to represent
all North Carolinians and fight for you in both Raleigh and Washington.”
Don, a member of Greensboro City Council from 1991 to 2005, has worked tirelessly
for Greensboro for over thirty years. In the State Senate, Don will be a strong
advocate for Greensboro. He will bring experience, honesty and sensible solutions
to the General Assembly. Don recognizes the issues most important to North Carolina
and our region.
