Greensboro, the Gate City , is a transportation hub for the state. Don has fought to help make Piedmont Triad International Airport a first-class facility so we can continue bringing more business activity to the Triad. Don will continue to make sure the Urban Loop project is completed on time, and that Greensboro and the Triad receive the funds they need for infrastructure upgrades. In a rapidly-growing region like ours it is absolutely crucial that infrastructure keeps up.

In order for our area to continue to thrive, we must improve and expand our infrastructure while growing in a feasible and realistic manner. Don understands that transportation infrastructure provides a foundation for economic development and growth.

Don understands we must be smart about how we grow. We need to support water conservation policies that help local communities deal with strains on the water supply, conserve energy resources and support renewable energy.

Don knows that to maintain a vibrant economy and high quality of life, we must:

•  Plan and fund future infrastructure needs to keep North Carolina a first-rate state to do business and to live.

•  Secure state assistance to help local communities build water and sewer facilities.

•  Improve state government utilization of renewable and clean energy.

•  Provide incentives for utilities, for commercial and industrial investments in renewable energy sources.
